The infamous Ford Bronco has seen revamps to its production for a re-release in 2018. Ford has transformed the vehicle to look more futuristic and hopes that the new model will make a significant impact in the market
Brace yourself, as the legendary Ford Bronco off-roader is about to make a comeback. Former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL star O.J. Simpson made the vehicle famous after he fled from the police in one after being accused of murder in the early 90s, but let’s not let one bad memory ruin such a beautiful automobile. The chairman of a local union said that they will begin making the new Broncos at Ford’s assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan.
Broncos came into existence in 1966 as a more compressed vehicle for those who favored a jeep. In 1978, its size exploded and so did people’s curiosity regarding it. O.J. Simpson gave the model some bad notoriety in the 90s and that unfortunate image has never really left the Bronco since then.
Ford has revamped the look and marketing behind the Bronco for this new release. The designers have created it in a way that looks like the original version, while also representing the future of the brand.
The Bronco clearly has some interesting times ahead of it. Ford rested the automobile for a while, giving it time to lay low and escape its negative connotations. This time around, the Bronco looks ready to stay on the scene for good.
However, it does have to compete with the attention of the presidential election. Donald Trump has even made statements disapproving Ford’s plans to relocate some of its operations to Mexico. That’s not the sort of press that Ford will be wanting, but we’ll see how things turn out in the coming weeks and months.
In order to defend their proposals regarding Mexico, Ford executives and union officials showcased plans to usher in new models and bring in more revenue to the Michigan headquarters. They spoke directly to the Detroit free press about their plans for the Ford Focus, as well as unveiling plans to release four new SUV types very soon. According to Autoblog.com the new Bronco will represent one of the four and may even lead the charge in the market.
Who knows how this story will all turn out for Ford. We do know that people have expressed serious interest in the new and improved Bronco, and this automobile should be destined for greatness.
I bet Ford is hoping that if any other celebrities want to get involved in high-speed car chases, they’ll choose a different brand of car!
