If you happen to own both a dog and a cat, then you’re probably well-aware of how tough their relationship could get. Of course, there are some animals who immediately become BFFs the second they meet, but even so, they can always find a way to occasionally irritate one another…
Other animals, like older cats, may need a bit of time before completely warming up to any newcomers. Often when a new puppy or kitty arrives at a new home, the existing pets are not fans. A few weeks later, however, you’ll find them sitting on the living room couch snuggling up! They always end up coming around.
Regardless of how long some pets have known one another, they can still shock each other every so often. In the case of Cherie Priest’s fluffy brood, one of her dogs found this out the hard way.
Cherie captured a collection of hilarious picture in which Lucy, her dog, finally realized how outnumbered she was by the cats surrounding her.
The pooch was taking her afternoon nap, and when she awoke, she was left shocked when she glanced around at her surroundings. The expression on her face conveyed her exact feelings in that moment, and it was all too funny! We’ve all felt this way at some point, Lucy, don’t worry!
Have you met Lucy? The blue-eyed, black haired beauty immediately captured the hearts of Cherie and the family when they met her in a pet shop last year as they went over to buy some cat litter.
Lucy is now a part of the wonderful animal family living in Cherie’s home. In the photo above: On the very left is little Quinn, a white-and-grey cat that they found inside of a car as she was only a little kitten. Next after Quinn is scruffy Greyson, a Great Pyrenees dog that’s 5 years old who had been adopted by Cherie as well as her partner. Next to Greyson is the oldest of the group, Spain, an adorable cat that found a way into Cherie’s world 15 years prior. Spain is now a whopping 19 years old, and predominately deaf, but continues to rule the home. Last but not least is Lucy, the most recent addition to the crew!
One day, owner Cherie was sitting at home along with her fluffy companions when she witness Lucy’s startling realization: the pup was completely outnumbered! Lucy enjoys wedging herself in between the space below the ottomans to have her daily nap, but this time, she woke up to find cats sitting on either side of her.
Even though she has another dog in the house, her older brother Greyson, she felt suddenly occupied by the feline world. Spain, the eldest cat, and the 15-pound kit Quinn had been watching her the whole time.
She looked to her left, then to her right, and lastly, directly towards the camera- it was a moment that belonged in a sitcom! Cherie shared her hilarious photos on Twitter, and the post garnered thousands of animal-lover’s likes!
Of course, there’s no reason to worry! Lucy is great friends with Quinn, the cat that Cherie named a “house leopard” because of her large size. The entire animal family loves one another, in fact, and they get along very well. They appear to be the best cuddle buddy friends ever!
Quinn and Lucy love playing, said Cherie. “She even likes to wrestle and play chase with Quinnie, who’s about 15-plus pounds and roughly the same age, and always down for a good rough-and-tumble time.”
