Modern Family Was Just Renewed For An Additional Two Seasons

The hit television show has secured two more years with ABC.

The massively-successful television series has confirmed its tenth season, with a possibility for more episodes to come in the next two years.

The television series, Modern Family, has confirmed an additional two seasons under ABC.

The popular sitcom, which started back in 2009, will complete season eight on the 17th May. The series airs at present on the Sky One network within the UK.

Recent announcements confirmed that the popular comedy series, Modern Family, staring beloved actors including Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, and Ed O’Neill, will continue on to its tenth season after being re-commissioned by ABC for two additional seasons.

In addition, the network has granted the option for more seasons after the two-year season renewal time line.

Channing Dungey, president at ABC, announced he is “thrilled” to extend the duration of this 22-time Emmy award winning show on the network:

Modern Family has been the centerpiece of our comedy brand for 8 seasons and we are thrilled to have it on our schedule for two more years,” Dungey stated. “[Creators] Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd have created such endearing characters, and the cast is second-to-none.”

Levitan noted: “We are beyond thrilled that we get to spend more time with these characters, these amazing actors, our ridiculously-talented writers and our incredible crew – all of whom are like family to us. And the good kind of family, not the kind that argues with you all the time.”

Closer to the end of last year, Sarah Hyland, Modern Family actress and star, participated in a cover of the hit song Closer by The Chainsmokers, alongside a band called Boyce Avenue.
