Thanks to Hurricane Matthew, Disney World in Orlando, Florida has shut down for the first time in more than 11 years.
Disney almost never closes its parks. Hurricane Matthew has Disney World shutting down 4 theme parks, water parks tonight through tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/PMU2q6rjY3

What is supposed to be the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ very quickly became the creepiest.
Usually so packed you can barely move, it’s absolutely bizarre seeing the park almost completely empty.
A few ‘lucky’ folks got the chance to explore it during the closure.
We’ve all seen the creepy old abandoned small-town theme parks before, but this is Disney World, which makes it a whole lot more disturbing.
It’s a harsh reminder of just how dangerous Hurricane Matthew can be.
It's been on my bucket list to get a "last person on Main Street" photo & I didn't think it would ever happen during the day. Disney parks closed early at 5pm today & will remain closed through tomorrow for the only the fifth time in history. We are confident we will stay safe in Bay Lake Tower as this hurricane passes & are grateful to have some extra time here when it's all over. Stay safe everyone!
The hurricane has already claimed over 500 lives in Haiti.
So if that wasn’t concerning enough, this certainly should be.
With the Magic Kingdom closing for only the 5th time in 45 years I thought this was appropriate for the situation. Hope everyone remains safe, and we will see ya Real Soon!! ??? … … #sorryfolks #parksclosed #magickingdom #wdw #wherethemagiclive #waltdisneyworld #hurricanematthew #sadface #seeyarealsoon #besafe #beprepared #guybehindthecastle #security #disneysecurity #protectingthemagic #disneypic #ilovemyjob #unforgettablecast
Cleared all of Hollywood Studios in under 45 minutes. Getting the park "hurricane ready" was probably the most fun I've had at work in a long time, but walking out with no one in sight, no music to be heard, and sand bags guarding every door in hopes to keep Matthew out, made me realize how serious this storm could get. Please stay safe, everyone. #hurricanematthew #SUX #mybelovedstudios
