Going on a vacation with your friends can be an amazing time, but how about living with them permanently in your own private community? People often wish to escape their lives and live far away with the serenity of nature. Four Texas couples went out and made this dream a reality.
Having known each other for over 20 years, the four couples decided to put their money together and buy some land, far outside of the city.
The aim was to permanently move out to that single plot of land, shared among the four couples.
The plot of land they got is on the Llano River in Texas, just outside Austin’s city limits.
Initially, they pondered on whether to live under a single roof. However, they decided each couple would need some personal space.
Instead of one big house, they decided to build four small ones!
Each house is around 400 square feet and cost about $40,000 to build. It comes with modest furnishings that include a bed and little bookshelf.
Additionally, each couple’s house is shaped around their personal needs in terms of relaxation.
Each cabin also has generous storage space.
The four houses have a joint community space that measures around 1500 square foot.
The community space includes a dining room, a kitchen, a guest space, and an activity space.
With the expertise of architect Matt Garcia, the couples made their idea a reality and aptly named it, “Llano Exit Strategy.”
